Located in Pusiga, Upper Eastern Region, Ghana. The location is near Burkina Faso and Togo borders.
The school has been active for eight years.
The previous name of the school was Christ the King School. The name was changed into Mekku's International School by the new owners, Merikerttu Mutala from Finland and Suleman Akparibo, Ghana.
There are 480 pupils/students in the school. They come from local area, Burkina Faso and Togo.
The staff is 13 teachers, one headmaster and one assistant head mistress.
Subjects to study are English, Mathematics, Social studies, Religious studies, Integrated Science (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Agricultural Studies).
There are three terms in a year: September-December / January-March / April-July. The dates vary according to the normal rhythm of each year.
Holiday times are Christmas holiday, Easter holiday and Summer holiday.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the school has been mainly closed. Only the senior high school graduating classes have been studying towrds their final exams. All opening times have been followed according to the governmental rules.

THE SCHOOL MATERIALS
Currently, the parents are buying the uniforms from local market.
The cost is approx. 75 ghc - eq. approx 15-20 €.
In the future, we will create our own uniform with the school logo. They will be available to buy from the school administration office.
The future scholarship system can be used to provide a uniform and school materials for the child, just as well as to pay the school fees. The uniforms need to be bought several times as the child grows up. Therefore it's a regular cost on top of the annual school fees.
The books can now be bought from the local market.
In the future, we will make many books available to buy from our own administration office. This helps the parents in the sense that they don't have to travel to bigger cities, which takes time and can be expensive. The system ensures the availability of the books and the appropriate condition of the books.
The parents buy the stationary from the local market.
The cost of an essential school kit (a pen, rubber, ruler, notebook) is approx 15 ghc, eq. 3-4 €.
